An investor visa is for high net worth individuals and families looking to gain residence in New Zealand by investing into “acceptable investments”. Residency can be obtained through investing at least NZD$5 million for the Growth category and NZD$10 million for the Balanced category, for a period of 3 and 5 years respectively. Invest and Retire in New Zealand
The Parent Retirement Resident Visa and Temporary Retirement Visitor Visa categories are other alternatives to the Active Investor Plus visa, if you wish to come to New Zealand during your retirement. The visa can be obtained through at least NZD$1 million investment in acceptable investments over 4 years for the Parent Retirement Resident Visa, and NZD$750,000 investment over 2 years for the Temporary Retirement Visitor Visa. All investments must be made in New Zealand, in New Zealand dollars and completed within 6 months of receiving your approval in principle (with an option to apply for an extension of 6-months). Investments are not allowed for personal use.
*Time required to be spent in NZ may be reduced by investing additional funds of at least NZD 1 million (in addition to the minimum investment amount) are invested into acceptable Managed Funds and / or Direct Investments.
